This is sort of cheating since I was just fooling around with my camera... but I didn't have much time to draw this weekend. ah well. I still think it came out kind of neat =)
Yeah! Finally finished this one tonight =). I like how it turned out! Different from how I expected, but that's half the fun... Good times. Hope you all enjoy!
"Doodle on black" - acrylic on mat board - ~9" x 5"
Experimenting with painting on a dark canvas -- it turned out pretty cool. The actual piece of mat board is 25" long (leavings from a previous project) so i might continue on this one and fill out the whole thing!
I'm really liking these new wood panels I got at Blick art supply -- the wood grain makes for a really nice backing =) I think I'll make a series of these...
Also, new camera! Hooray, no more crappy phone / snapshot pictures.
I really like how this one turned out! Simple, but poignant (or at least that's how I feel about it.) This is actually drawn on the cardboard backing for some bristol paper -- ink, watercolor and acrylics. Mmm, I need to explore this kind of style more =).
Painted this on a random piece of cardboard, and I really like how it turned out! It seems like my cityscapes always end up being some version of Chicago, interestingly enough.
Painted this tonight, i really like how it turned out! Acrylics can be so expressive -- definitely get a different feeling from them than from watercolors.
"Green Mountain" - WIP - ink and watercolor on board
Lots of experimenting -- watercolor is at the same time more forgiving and less manageable when not on paper... still fun to try though!
In other news, i'm pissed because i didn't get to work out today. it seems like everyone and their mother was in the gym. Maybe everyone's trying to get a good start on their new years resolution.
