"Black Mage" - ink, watercolor and gouache on paper - 10" x 7"
(table top saturation bumped back in Photoshop)

Another piece for the Giant Robot show coming up in a couple of weeks!

Live painting on Friday was tons of fun. There were a lot of people there taking pictures, so I was going to wait until some of them made it onto Flickr to make a post about it.

'night!

Coming soon...

Just a peek at some techniques I've been trying out for a live painting gig coming up in a couple of days. If you happen to be in San Francisco on Friday (the 26th) come by 111 Minna! Hyphen Magazine is throwing a release party and invited me to do some painting. Should be a good time - live art, live music, and booze!

Here are the details for the event.

"Triforce" - ink, watercolor and gouache on paper - 10" x 7"

A little Zelda themed artwork for the Game Over show coming up at Giant Robot SF!

Tried bumping the saturation of the background back a little, it was starting to distract from the artwork. Seems like it works pretty well =)

Nessie - ink, watercolor and gouache on paper - 10" x 7"

Today was a sick day from work... but I was still somewhat productive. Finished up this green piece from a few days back, I guess maybe it's Nessie's ghost?

Back to work tomorrow though! All play and no work makes Lawrence a big dork. (I know I know, it's near rhyme. But I'm no poet. Deal.)

Sadbot

"Sadbot" - ink, watercolor and gouache on paper- 6" x 6"

Another piece for the Robots and Monsters charity. Source words: Robot, sad, grey, tall.

Happy Chinese New Year / V-day!

The original plan was that today I'd be stuffed to the gills with delicious Chinese food, with no time to paint... but some sort of angry flu bug hit me last night and I've been bedridden the whole day. Managed to crawl out of bed to finish this piece though.

Weak!

02 12 10 - marker on postal paper - 30" x 40"

The good folks from Gelaskins are in town for Macworld - they carry a few of my pieces as custom skins for laptops and mobile devices. Had a great time hanging out with them tonight.

Managed to draw a quick mountain sketch before crashing though - large scale drawings are fun! I should do more...

More experimenting and practice for a live painting gig coming up... Got my hands dirty and went a bit nuts on this one.

Happy mountains? Check.
Pagoda / machine city? err... check.
Crazy floating head in the sky.... WTF???

Haha, good times.

"Snow" - ink, watercolor and gouache on illustration board- 15" x 20"

Hooray! After two weeks, this piece is finally done. For some reason I got distracted drawing bears all the time. Was very tempted to add a bear here, but decided against it.
