Something I haven't really experimented with before, is combining my traditional painting and digital painting styles. This is a special piece for a show coming up in the fall -- so let's see where it goes =). Going well so far!

I like this one! Going in a different direction with the abstract flora... but it really felt like the background was screaming for something aquatic and feathery to offset it --

"Gathering 2" - Crayola model magic - (quarter is for scale)
Staying with my theme of taking a break from pen and paper, ink and canvas, etc etc -- I played around with Crayola Model Magic today. I would highly recommend it. It's got a spongy consistency that feels pretty cool, and you can make all sorts of little things!
Good times! When they dry they're a little brittle though... I wonder if I should experiment more with other modeling materials... =P

This weekend has been the "experiment with new things" weekend. Here's a Trexi that I picked up at Giant Robot while wandering around the Haight. =) I think he's looking pretty rad so far... I'll have to figure out how to keep the ink from smudging off though.
