Little guy finally finds the fabled Giant Powdered Turd, who grants three turd related wishes.
That's what I see at least. I dunno, I just wanted to experiment more with the spatter technique =).

Phew, finally finished it! This one was a beast - it kept changing what it wanted to be. I think I managed to guide it to a pretty reasonable state though =)
Make sure to click through for high res - I took about five process pictures, so you can see it develop from the base wash.

Here is where I am so far with the Cocoon movie poster for the show coming up at Gallery 1988. I feel pretty good about where the piece is... Apart from a few minor touch ups, I think this is mostly done.
When I'm sure, I'll post another, better picture... this one is a bit off color-wise, and there are some details that got lost.

Also been working on the Cocoon poster, hopefully will get that into a place where I can post a progress picture tomorrow.
District 9 Poster - last breath
Sorry for the hiatus -- been pretty busy lately! Mmm, I did have a chance to work more on this poster for the show, but I think I may have been overly ambitious with it. Things that looked awesome in my head didn't turn out looking awesome on paper. Composition is weird, colors are off, and overall I'm just not happy with it.
I don't usually post things that I don't like, but I figured I put so much time into it that it deserves at least a little air time. (Plus I feel bad that I haven't posted anything in a while). I probably won't finish this one... just going to move onto the next thing, and leave this as a "just in case".
I've already started working on the Cocoon poster -- I have some more fully baked ideas for that one, and it's already looking better than this failure =P.
I'll post things as they develop. Hope you're all having a great Labor Day weekend!

Here's a piece for the Robots and Monsters charity run by Joe Alterio -- the site is down right now as they're relaunching soon...
The idea of the charity project is that someone would donate money and request either a robot or a monster drawing - and specify three words that they want the drawing to be based on. In this case, the three words were "serenade, spectral, junkyard" and the donor wanted a robot drawing.
Fun to do, but I need to start figuring out how to balance side projects with gallery show preparations... ahh! Too much to do!

Work in progress for the upcoming movie poster show at Gallery 1988. Pretty crazy, I very rarely work on pieces this big, so I'm trying to plan things out a little more than normal.
Hopefully will turn out alright though!

Some friends and family have expressed concern that I may not have a healthy diet. To assuage their worries, I've drawn a representative meal (ie. what I ate today).
Hopefully, they will feel better now - everything I ate is (kind of) a fruit or vegetable!

Poker night tonight with the work crew... I had some downtime before the game started, so sketched a quick thing with dry erase marker on a piece of tabloid paper.
Something about using office supplies to create artwork... so satisfying =)
