Seussian Trees
Seussian Trees.
Here they are as a set -- will be showing these at a show coming up at Gallery 1988 SF!
Seussian Pink
Seussian Yellow
"Seussian Yellow" - ink, watercolor and gouache on paper - 7" x 10"
Hooray, third one is done! Here they are all together.
Hmmm. I may go back and redo the pink one though, it doesn't really sit quite right with me... Ah well, I'll worry about it tomorrow.

Did some live painting at a guerilla dining event tonight -- here's one of the pieces that came out of it -
The guerilla dining event was by GraffEats. The food was so good... if you have a chance definitely check out one of their events coming up - it's for a good cause as well!
I swapped this piece for a delicious bottle of absinthe by the good people of Old World Spirits.
What a fun night =)
New prints are here!
The new limited edition prints are here!
Same as before -- each is a limited set of 100 prints on archival watercolor paper. Super high quality, beautiful colors, the folks at SF Electric Works (the print shop I used) really outdid themselves this time.
Update:
Prints are now available! View details here: http://www.suckatlife.com/printsForSale.html

Dr. Sketchy's Roadshow - "DD 20 Minute Pose"
"DD, 20 minute pose 2" - marker on paper - 17" x 14"
Dr. Sketchy's Roadshow was in San Jose last night!
It was a ton of fun, and by the end of the night I had a respectable stack of sketches of the models in various stages of undress.
For the uninitiated, "Dr. Sketchy's is what happens when cabaret meets art school." It's life drawing, but the setup, atmosphere, characters, etc -- make it so much more than just life drawing. If there is a Dr. Sketchy's near you, I highly highly recommend it.
Find out more information about Dr. Sketchy's here.
Bucket of Does
"Bucket of Does"
For the confused:
Verizon came out with a new phone, DROID, whose tagline is "A bare knuckled bucket of does." This works fine for TV ads, but in print not so much. Nancy Friedman blogged about how this works fine for TV ads, but in print not so much. My friend Bronwyn Jones sent me a link and asked me to draw a bucket of does.
And here it is.

"Bunny Triptych"
"Bunny Triptych" - ink, watercolor and gouache on paper - 5" x 6"
I had to set up this shot on my other table... my studio table is too crazy right now with all the contrasting colors. It wouldn't do justice to the piece if the background more distracting than the piece itself =P.

Also, it looks like the numbers for the poll have solidified. I've decided on four pieces to make prints of... stay tuned for more details!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

I-57
"I-57" - photograph and digital
Didn't really feel like painting today...
I dug up this old picture I took a couple years ago on a trip back to my alma mater. I-57 was the lifeline that connected college to home for many of my classmates, as well as myself. I hadn't been back in a while, and driving a couple hours through the flatness was like going back in time.
Ahhh, I'm starting to sound old.

Time to make some prints
(about ten left)
Hi all!
As you may or may not know, I've been selling prints of "The Chase" for the last year or so. Well, they've been selling pretty steadily, and right now there are only about ten left from an original run of 100. These are limited edition prints, so there won't be anymore printed once these are gone.
That being said, I've started looking at my catalog to figure out what my next limited edition print(s) should be... Over the years I've had many requests to make specific pieces into prints, but I thought it might be nice to open it up to the broader audience with a poll.
Please click this large text link to take my online poll. I promise it's short and sweet with a lot of pretty pictures.
