Just a note- I'm out of town visiting a friend for the next few days. Stay tuned for the next video game piece (or the continuance of the megaman one...)
Cheers!

Megaman Apocalypse
"Megaman Apocalypse" - acrylic, ink and watercolor on board - 10" x 8 "
Same premise as the Pacman one -- what if the world had depended on Megaman to protect it, and what if Megaman had lost? (also for the Giant Robot show coming up)
I'm not sure I'm done with this one yet... the little guy looks lonely by himself. Maybe I'll paint him some backup =).
Blugh..
Sorry, no new progress on the Blue piece... Well, actually I did work on it a bit last night, but I made the mistake of laying my head down in between layers of acrylic. When I woke up it was 5am and I dragged myself into bed. Failure.
Who's idea was it that people had to sleep every day anyway!? Booerns.
So, instead of something new, here's something old.

"Pacman Apocalypse"
Washington DC was a ton of fun. It was good to take a break and visit some friends. I did a bunch of sketching... maybe I'll upload some of the better ones later on. In the meantime, I've been working on another piece for the upcoming Giant Robot - Game Over show...
So I asked myself... what if the world depended on Pacman defeating the ghosts? And what if he lost?

"Blue Wash Digital"
"Blue Wash Digital " - acrylic and digital media
So I did this awesome blue wash on a 7" x 5" piece of prepared masonite. And then I fucked it up. Luckily I took a picture of it before said fucking up took place.
I brought the picture into Alias Sketchbook Pro and worked on it a bit on my tablet... The end result: a combination digital and traditional painting that takes advantage of the awesome wash =).
Good times!

Pepsi Logo - a response
Pepsi Logo - A Response: digital
So they recently plastered the Powell BART station in San Francisco with Pepsi ads. Just big posters that say "POP", "HOPE", "SODA", "JOY", etc. All flaunting Pepsi's new lopsided logo.
And every time I see the logo, I can't help imagining a big belly button in the middle... So I thought I would share my vision with you all. You'll never look at the Pepsi logo the same again =).

I decided to take a break from the "Scarecrow" piece tonight... I've been meaning to try out some different techniques and experiment with textures. This is the result! Pretty cool, I'm not sure if it's done yet, so there's a tentative WIP (work in progress) attached.
Blue Abstract WIP 1
"Blue Abstract" WIP 1 - acrylic on masonite - 20" x 16" (detail view)
Here's a small cut of something that I've been working on for a few days... Don't know why, but I've been driven to do these more abstract pieces lately. Maybe the weather? Or maybe just insane. Either way, here's where this piece is now.
Have some more whimsical stuff that I want to paint after this one... but it feels like i need to get this blue piece out of my head first.
Happy weekend!
